Kira is a great companion and an all-around German Shepherd. She came into my life when I needed her the most and she has become my best friend, soul mate, and whole heart.
We have accomplished so much in various sports. She loves every sport and outing we do as long as we do it together.
She's earned her RATCH and we're currently working on her RATCHX. She also has titles in a multiple of sports including Lure Coursing, Scentwork, Rally, and Agility (NADAC). I'm looking forward to participating in the above sports as well as any others that come our way.

Carys is a happy girl who loves her dog sports. She is my first sports dog and she has excelled at everything we have tried. Carys competes in Flyball, Fast Cat, Barn Hunt, Dock Diving and NASDA. She also knows Agility and can run the course but we never got around to actually competing in Agility.
Her favorite sport is Flyball. She also loves to play fetch and would play ball all day if she could.

Gunther & Emily Grove
RATCH Gunther Vom Grove Haus
FDC CAA DCAT CGCU CGCA TKA ATT

Gunther enjoys mutlpe sports including coursing, fast cat, dock diving, frisbee, agility , rally and trickdog. However his absolute favorite has been barn hunt. He has shown a high level of enthusiasm for barn hunt from his first lesson with Kristy. In his first 13 months of barn hunt he earned, 13 high in class awards, his RATCH title, and 7 different 2022 placements in the Barn Hunt Association year end stats.
At home Gunther enjoys playing tug/fetch, sun bathing on the deck and cuddling Emily in bed at night. Being Emily's first sport dog has been an adventure and they look forward to exploring more sports including scent work, obedience and weight pull in the future. Having a wonderful companion at home and a versitile sport dog willing to try any sport thrown at him has been a unique experience that Emily never expected when she was gifted Gunther as a puppy.

CHERRY is a fun girl who has dipped her toes in many different rings including confirmation, rally, FAST Cat, dock diving, agility, and barn hunt. She is currently working towards her RATCHX in BHA, and her MACH in agility. She has also done commercial work.
She is always full of surprises but enjoys just snuggling with her mom as much as anything.

Lewis was placed with me when he was almost 3 years old when his 80ish year-old owner had to go into a Nursing Home. He recently earned his first RATCH. He is now 9-years old and a enthusiastic rat hunter. In addition to competing in Barn Hunt, he competes in NASDA, CAT, and Fast CAT. He earned his FCAT4 last fall and is close to earning FCAT5. Hunting rats and running are his favorite activities. He tried agility but developed arthritis in his back, so he no longer competes in agility in the "big dog" venues but occasionally competes in Teacup Dog Agility (TDAA). His favorite agility obstacle is the A-Frame and would do it numerous times during a run. He also likes to pick up the cones and carry them around.
Lewis is a very happy guy and keeps me entertained all the time.

Elaine Nichols and Clay
Lookaway Live, Laugh, Love
RN, CA, DCAT, CGC, TKA, RATCH, FGDCh, MBM
Clay is a very active Australian Shepherd. He loves his sports, at any time he may be doing Flyball, Rally, Coursing, Fast Cat, Tricks, Barn Hunt or playing at home with the Chuck-It. Anytime he is off lead at home, you'll find him standing where the Chuck-It lives watching it, trying desperately to show you what he wants to be doing next.
As active as he is, if my lap is available, he's curled up in it. Basically, if there is something fun happening, Clay wants to be a part of it. When he goes to visit the farm, he has even dabbled with his herding instincts, trained in tracking and has learned agility skills as well. Just not enough time to make it all happen. Although, he's willing to work with his other humans, if Mom is not available.

Sheri Willis and Madigan
Mad About Madigan
RATCHX6, REX3
Madigan is a super-fun performance dog because she is so enthusiastic and energetic! Her first sport was Agility but soon after she started competing in Agility we discovered that she LOVES hunting rats. We are continually introducing her to new sports and she is always happy to try anything.
Madigan has well over 100 performance titles - including 9 Championship Titles. It's no surprise that all 9 of her Championships are in her favorite sport - Rat Hunting! She has earned 6 Barn Hunt Championships ('RATCHX6') and 2 Hide 'n Seek Championships ('REX3') and she is close to earning her first Agility Championship (hopefully in 2021). She currently competes in Agility (NADAC & CPE), Rat Hunting (Barn Hunt & Hide 'n Seek), FastCAT and Lure Coursing.

My husband had just retired and was ready to get his own companion dog. We had completely different reasons, but we agreed on Marty. She is as comfortable and happy in his lap as she is at Happy Dog Ranch learning new skills. Marty likes variety, her week often includes barn hunt, flyball, agility, rally, and chasing squirrels. She is a great training partner for me and an even better companion for my husband.
Jeanine Collins and Kinetic
RATCH Kinetic de Haute Volee, MAD

Kinetic was bought to be an agility dog (which is he, and a fine one too!), but he's up to play just about any game I want. We'd been competing in agility for about a year or so, when 1) Kristy started offering barn hunt and 2) my hip replacement decided to come apart. So we added barn hunt to our sports, and had a bunch of fun. Barn hunt is very accommodating to mobility challenged handlers -- I went to trials on crutches after I got my hip replacement replaced, with helpers retrieving rat tubes for me and judges being extraordinarily kind. Barn hunt showed me I had a dog who could ignore a crate full of kittens next to the barn hunt ring and keep working, as well as one with smarts -- Kin tends to give an all clear by pointing at standing and pointing his nose at the bin in which the rat tubes are kept. Want me to find more ratties? Bring'em back in here!
Kristy Netzer and Diggity
RATCH5 A2M Hot Diggity Dawg
RATSX5, AD, AXJ, OF, TD3

Diggity has been such a fun and enjoyable companion and competitor. It took a while for her to turn on to training. At first, she would rather run around the agility arena and throw her toys and pounce on them than play with me. But with a lot of patience, she learned to love working and training.
We went to the 2015 Barn Hunt Nationals and I didn't expect much from her. She didn't seem to love Barn Hunt but I thought it would be fun to go.
Boy way I wrong! It's like she knew we were at a National event. I couldn't believe my little dog! She was a rock star and ended up winning the Silver medal. She was only a year and a half old.
She has just started competing in agility and we are going to start Rally training soon. I'm so excited about the future with Dig. Not only is she a lot of fun to train, but she's an awesome dog, too!

2015 BHA Nationals - High In Class Round 1

Kandu is a wonderful companion and I think, one of the most beautiful dogs alive! She's has a great work ethic and loves to do whatever sport she tries. She play agility and has dabbled at herding. But her main love is Barn Hunt. She just quivers when she's in the blind, waiting for her turn. She absolutely loves it when the onlookers clap when she has cleared the course.
At 10 years old, she is still going strong in Barn Hunt and we are looking forward to the 2016 BHA Nationals.
Kandu's newest adventure, or sport, is Rally. We hope to start competing in Rally next year.
Kristy and Batman
RATCH2, ADCH Contact Point's Caped Crusader

Batman is a once in a lifetime dog. He is my heart, my friend, my companion, and part of my family.
It doesn't matter what sport we try, he loves them all. He loves agility, barn hunt, herding, and rally. If there were other sports I wanted to try, he would be right there, ready to go.
But more than anything, Batman loves to be with me. He is everywhere that I am, watching to be sure I don't do anything without him, and that I'm OK.
Kristy and Dabbie
ADCH Red Dawn's Yabba Dabba Dawg

Dabbie is now a senior citizen and earned her RATCH title when she was 13 years old! And she absolutely loves it!

Dabbie has been a lont time competitor of agility and is one of the funniest dogs I've ever had. She loves to stare at the cats who live on our property. Her indication in Barn Hunt is to find the rats and stare at them. She doesn't pounce on them, paw at them, or bark. She just freezes. Then I know she's found one!

Her knick name is "Officer Dab" because if we every tell another dog to "Knock It Off", she comes running and gives the dog what-for!

I am hopeful that she will be with us for a really really long time.
Lee and Rafe
RATCH Mystik Archangel Raphael
MXB MJS CAX3 THDD FDCH CGC
Rafe is our first Border Terrier. When we first spoke with his breeder, we told her we were looking for a family companion, although we were thinking about Therapy Dog work. I never dreamed of all the places Rafe would take us. We started puppy classes and had so much fun that one class lead to another and another. Rafe has taken us to Earthdog Tests, Agility Trials, Flyball Tournaments and Coursing Tests.
Our first exposure to Barn Hunt was in May of 2014 in Hendersonville, TN. Rafe thought hunting rats in the hay bales was too much fun, and he picked up his Instinct and Novice titles. While Rafe enjoyed his hunting, I was primarily focused on Agility at the time...until a fall in 2016 when I broke my femur. Fortunately, Barn Hunt doesn't require a handler to run, and Rafe was happy to get back to rat hunting. Rafe is a serious hunter; perhaps not as fast or flamboyant as some, he is steady and dependable. It is a joy to be his partner on the hunt. And both of us are grateful to all of our Barn Hunt friends who have supported us through some rough times.
Oh...Rafe also became a Therapy Dog. Visiting Alive Hospice and an Alzheimer's unit each week, he has over 500 Therapy Dog visits to his credit.
Lee Holzemer and Gordie
RATCHX Meadowlake Hat Trick CAA FDX
Gordie is our second Border Terrier; and while a fine specimen of the breed, Gordie has never heard that the Border Terrier is supposed to be one of the more “laid-back” terriers. His breeder told us, “Well, he's not the 'spawn of the devil' of the litter, but he runs a close second!” In general, unless Gordie is asleep, he is running. And he loves Barn Hunt! Not only does he get to do the “terrier thing” of hunting vermin, but he can run, jump, and tunnel through the hay bales. And when I say “tunnel through the hay bales”, I am not just referring to the course tunnel. Gordie has been known to make his own tunnels through the bales in search of the rats! He does know how to put on a show.
Gordie simply loves whatever is happening around him at any given moment. He screams to go coursing or play flyball. He hopes to soon make his debut in the Agility ring. And, in his quieter moments, he loves to snuggle so he may even become a Therapy Dog one day. His enthusiasm makes me smile wherever we may be, whatever we might be doing.
